ACTION AT DARTMOUTH
COFIRED IS CURRENTLY ADVOCATING FOR…
$0 on student contributions and loans for undocumented students.
Without work permits provided by DACA, undocumented students cannot work.
Alternative, safer modes of transportation.
On Sept. 5, 2019, U.S. Border Patrol set up a checkpoint on Interstate 98, between exits 18 and 19. This was the day many international students were scheduled to arrive on-campus.
Moreover, agents have established a history of boarding Greyhound buses, which students often use to travel from Boston Logan International Airport to the College, and asking passengers for documentation.
This positions undocumented students, and/or students with undocumented family members and loved ones, in vulnerable and dangerous conditions.
We ask that the College provide and publicize safer modes of transportation for all students.
